NTCP (SLC10A1) Transporter Assay

The NTCP transporter is encoded by the SLC10A1 gene. It is also known as the sodium (Na+) taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide. NTCP is expressed in liver hepatocytes on the basaolateral side of the sinusoidal membrane. It serves to bring bile salts and other substrates from the blood stream into the liver.
