OCT2 (SLC22A2) Transporter Assay
OCT2 is an organic cation uptake transporter that is encoded by the SLC22A2 gene. OCT2 is expressed in the kidney on the basaolateral membrane of proximal tubule epithelial cells. Because it transports its substrates from the bloodstream into the kidney, OCT2 is involved in the renal elimination of these compounds.
