OCT3 (SLC22A3) Transporter Assay
The polyspecific organic cation transporter OCT3, coded by gene SLC22A3, has a more widespread tissue distribution than its homologs OCT1 and OCT2 (skeletal muscle, heart, lung, kidney, liver, placenta and brain) and mediates the facilitative transport of structurally diverse endogenous and exogenous cations. It is considered to be the major component of the extraneuronal monoamine transport system, which is responsible for the peripheral elimination of monoamine neurotransmitters.
BioIVT offers OCT3 substrate and inhibition assays for transport in polarized mammalian cells. We offer a wide range of studies including single concentration screens up to full kinetic studies to determine the IC50 determinations for OCT3 inhibitors, as well as Vmax and Km studies for OCT3 substrates.
