Fibroblasts are involved in normal growth, healing, wound repair, and the day-to- day physiological activities of every tissue and organ in the body.When associated with carcinomas, they have been implicated in tumor progression. BioIVT provides fibroblasts isolated from freshly resected tumor, as well as fibroblasts from the normal tissue at the margin of the tumor. Cells are cryopreserved after a limited number of passages and are provided as frozen ampules. All cases are provided with our standard set of clinical data.

BioIVT has extensive scientific expertise in the isolation and propagation of diseased human primary cells. Primary cells, from normal and diseased cohorts,  offer the closest known comparison to the original tissue. All donor material is confirmed for tissue type and diagnosis by our certified Pathologists and the resulting cells are known to be free of common human pathogens and are sterility tested. Each lot of cells is provided with available donor clinical data and drug history.

BioIVT offers Human Cancer Associated Fibroblasts (HuCAFs) from multiple donors with the following cancers. Matched Normal Fibroblasts are also available from select donors.

Features & Benefits

Primary cells propagated for limited time and cryopreserved after minimal numbers of passage. Thus, these cells maintain their differentiated state and can be used as an in vitro model system for molecular changes associated with disease.

Contents and Storage

Viable cells per vial is donor and lot dependent.
Cells are stored in cryopreservation media (CryoStor® CS5, Sigma Aldrich).

  • Sterility Test: Negative for bacterial growth, fungal growth
  • Pathogen Test: Negative for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV1, HIV2, Mycoplasma sp.

Use Biosafety Level 1 safety procedures when handling these primary human cells.
